All About Me

Tubbys Pottery is the home of the MUP and other pottery items, such as bad taste cups, personalised cups and wall plaques. MUPs are drinking vessels that are hand-thrown and are - Bigger than a Cup but Smaller than a Mug - hence The MUP was born in 2024. My passion for creating unique and functional pottery drives me to deliver one-of-a-kind pieces that add a bit of character to your everyday life. We hope to bring a bit of fun to our customers through our diverse range of pottery products.

My love of pottery started at a very young age, I always took an interest in unique pottery that my parents would have around the house, when visiting friends and family and of course at school. School is where the real passion for pottery flourished, I grew up in Birmingham and my pottery teacher, Mr Harris (I am so sorry for messing around and having clay fights) was a great teacher. When you are young you don't realise the impact a teacher will have on your life, and Mr Harris taught me so many skills that I still use to this day. Could I have listened more and tried harder, of course - but what he did teach me was to embrace my love of pottery, and that seed of enjoyment stayed in my system for years to come and like most, was reignited again with The Great Pottery Throw Down.

So off I toddled to the Birmingham Midland Arts Centre to reignite that passion for throwing mud around and trying to turn out a piece of some sort that was bit of alright. Which after a couple of years, it was better than alright and that passion was reignied and has bought me to this stage of my pottery Journey. Tubbys Pottery.
